We’re looking for new Trustees to join our team
The 11th Spen Valley (Hunsworth) Scouts relies on people like you playing their part to give young people opportunities to dream big, give it a go, and build skills for life.
We’re looking for Trustees to join our new Trustee Board which, from July 2024, will have an enhanced role overseeing our Scout Group, responsible for ensuring it is being run for the benefit of our young people and the community we’re part of.
Each Trustee Board (every Scout District or Group has one) needs people with a passion for supporting our Group to be the best it can be as Charity Trustees accountable for governance, finance, risk management and much more.
Trustees do not need to be parents or carers of existing members, but they do need a link to our community and a passion for making a difference. Importantly, the role is not about running weekly Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts sections, or organising our events, camps and parades, but about supporting and overseeing those brilliant volunteers who give up their time and energy to do just that week-in, week-out.
Our Trustee Board will meet three or four times a year and host an Annual General Meeting, but effective Trustees will also volunteer for tasks in between the meetings to ensure the smooth running of the Scout Group and maximise its potential for a hugely positive impact on its young members.

We’re running an open selection process where applications will be considered by the current Trustee Board. The Board will then make recommendations to appoint those selected at the Annual General Meeting of the 11th Spen Valley Scout Group Scout Council on Wednesday 17 July 2024.
